Install SUAAMS on Android.
The app is still in testing, so it installs from this page rather than the Play Store. It takes about a minute.
You need an Android phone and your matric number. Phones with NFC check in with a tap; phones without NFC use Bluetooth instead.
On an iPhone? The iPhone app isn't out yet. Your lecturer can mark you present by hand until it is.

Download the app
Download SUAAMSOpen the file when the download finishes. Older or budget phone and the install fails? Try the version for older phones.
-
Allow the install
Android asks once whether your browser may install apps. Tap Settings, turn on Allow from this source, then go back and tap Install.
If Play Protect says the app is unknown, tap More details, then Install anyway. It warns about any app that doesn't come from the Play Store.
-
Sign in
Sign in with your matric number. Your first password is your matric number too, and the app makes you choose a new one straight away.
Sign in on your own phone. Your account locks to the first phone you use, and a phone holds one student's account. Changing phones later means asking an admin, with your school ID.
What the app asks for
- Fingerprint or PIN
- To confirm it's you before each check-in. The fingerprint stays on your phone.
- NFC
- To pass your check-in code to the reader when you tap.
- Bluetooth
- The fallback for phones without NFC: the app listens for the reader's short code.
- Location
- Android 11 and older only. Those versions make any app that scans for Bluetooth ask for it. SUAAMS never reads your location.
- Notifications
- To tell you when you've been marked, and about announcements.
Who makes it
- Publisher
- SUAAMS, a final-year Mechatronics Engineering project. Questions: contact@suaams.com.ng
- Privacy
- No fingerprints, no location tracking. Read the privacy policy.
If something goes wrong
- "App not installed"
- Try the version for older phones.
- "Device in use"
- This phone already holds another student's account. Sign in on your own phone, or ask an admin.
- New phone
- Your account is locked to your old one. Take your school ID to an admin to have it moved.
- "Update required"
- Your version is too old to check in. Come back to this page and install the new one over it.
